Best Summer Stories, edited by Aviva Tuffield, will bring together outstanding published and unpublished short fiction by Australian writers. It will be a testament to the vibrancy of the short story in Australia and to the wealth of superb local writers working in the form, and showcase this richness through a diversity of voices and styles, delivering stories that engage hearts and minds. This brilliant collection continues Black Inc.’s long tradition of discovering and celebrating Australia’s finest writers.

Stories can be previously published or unpublished and must be received by Monday, 30 April 2018. If previously published, please include publication details with your submission. Late entries will not be accepted and only one story may be submitted per person. Please email submissions to [email protected] as an attached Word document.

Final selection will be made by late July 2018 and successful contributors only will be notified by email.
