Damian Smith is a freelance curator, arts writer and academic. He is the author of The Geoff Raby Collection of Contemporary Chinese Art. In 2019 he was the Australian curator for the 13th Havana Biennale, Cuba and his earlier projects include being the inaugural archivist for the Sidney Nolan Estate in the Black Mountains of Wales, United Kingdom. His numerous essays and publications are maintained by the State Library of Victoria in the Damian Smith Archive. He lives in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick.
